STATE POSTER CONTEST Your poster may
portray any theme as long as it does not contain any copyrighted material. It must promote 4-H. Listed below are the
contest rules: 1. Must be a 4-H member 2. There is no age requirement 4. No copy
righted material 5. No 3-dimensional posters will be permitted 6. Entries may not be larger than 22"x14"
7. Your name, age, county, address & a short identifying caption must be printed on the back of the entry 8. Entries
are due to 4-H Office by June 21. Posters will be divided into 2 groups- ages 12 & under and
ages 13 & over. Contact Lisa Jones with questions.

FLASH,
SIZZLE, BOUNCE-SCIENCE DAY CAMP This year's newest
science-themed day camp will be held Mon, July 26th to Thurs, July 29th from 8 am - 4 pm at
the 4-H Center. Registration is due no later than July 2. The camp is open to all youth between the ages
of 11-14. The cost for camp will be $65 if registered prior to June 19 and $70 on or after June 19. Pre-registration

CONTEST We’re
asking members to design the 4-H Fair Catalog cover. Members have been showing us how creative & artistic they can
be. Requirements:
Must be on 8 1/2 in. x 11 in. white paper, with an inch margin on all four sides. Done in black ink marker (copy ready). Must include the following: York County 4-H Fair "4-H Does That?!" August 14-16, 2010 York Co. 4-H Center All art work must be submitted to Kathy at the 4-H
Office before June 1st! Please
enclose a card with your name, club, address, and phone number with your entry.

SMALL ANIMAL ESSAY CONTEST
This contest is open to current 4-H'ers who are enrolled in a small animal project. This includes dog, rabbit, poultry and pet care projects
Essay titled is "What I Have
Learned in My 4-H Small Animal Project" Limited
to 500 words. May be typed or handwritten. Include: name, age, county & complete mailing address on the essay. Contact Lisa

STATE PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST Do NOT have to be enrolled in the photography project. Limited
to one entry. Entries may be black & white or color. Must not exceed 8"x10". Photos may portray ANY
THEME. Do not submit copyrighted entries. May be single photo or series of photos showing "before"
and "after" scenes or "how to do it" sequences. Your name, age, county, address & a short caption

4-H Sports Day
Camp – join the FUN, learn the importance of warming up, cooling down, and stretching from an experienced
Physical Therapist. You will also learn about sportsmanship, fair play, a variety of games and how to play them correctly. Camp will be from 9- 4 on April 24
at the 4-H Center, Registration from 8:30 – 9
am Cost is $6/camper
– you can pay at the door or send a check payable to “York County 4-H Development Fund” – please mark
4-H Sports camp in the memo line. Camp is for members ages 8-12 Lunch and snack
are included. At this time, they do not need to bring anything – if that changes, we will notify
you – they should be dressed to play sports including sneakers and loose fitting clothes that they can get dirty in. Camp

York County 4-H Speakout Workshop Learning how to speak or give a presentation in front of a crowd is one of the most important life skills
you can learn in 4-H. Our County 4-H Speakout Contest is coming up in May. In an effort to help you “make
the best, better” for this very important event, we are offering a Speech & Presentation Workshop on Wednesday,
April 21st at 6:30pm in Room 4 of the Extension Office with Speakout judge Julie Flinchbaugh.
Pre-registration for the workshop is required by April 16th. Please register by contacting Lisa Jones at
the 4-H Office or via email at lhj5007@psu.edu. More information on the Speakout Contest will be in the next issue of the Clover Press
along with registration information!

New 4-H Archery Project to open in Southern York County! James Parsons of Airville has completed the PA 4-H Shooting
Sports training and is now certified to teach 4-H Archery Project. Congratulations James!
The new
4-H Archery project will be offered to youth 10 and older as of January 1, 2010. To learn about this shooting sports program, please attend the next meeting of the Airville 4-H Community Club. It will be held on Tuesday, April 20 at the Lower Chanceford Township Building at 7:00p.m. You may register your children for 4-H Archery at
this meeting. Cost to register in 4-H
is $11.00. For

Auction on March 19 The sausage will be fresh for you to pick up at the Consignment Sale and
frozen for York County 4H Auction. Here's the ingredients from the label: salt, brown sugar, Pepper, Antioxidants
(BHA & BHT each .0800) You can preorder by emailing Lois Rankin at lsrankin@comcast.net. Cost is $3 per pound and can be loose or quarter pound patties. The sausage is delicious
